 Quella di Griante è una delle prime sezioni sorte in Italia essendo stata costituita nel lontano 1979 su  iniziativa del Sig. Antonio Saporiti. Fin dalla sua fondazione egli si è dedicato all'accrescimento dell'Associazione, promuovendo iniziative di notevole importanza come l'acquisto dell'apparecchio per la mammografia, donata all'Ospedale di Menaggio. La sua completa dedizione all'associazione lo portò ad essere identificato con essa, tanto da essere ormai da tutti conosciuto come "Tony Aido". Il Sig. Antonio Saporiti è  da sempre il presidente della sezione di Griante, coadiuvato dall'apporto prezioso dei membri del consiglio amministrativo eletti dai sociogni tre anni.

The A.I.D.O. section of Griante  is one of the first  that have been founded in Italy, for  it was constituted by Mr. Antonio Saporiti in 1979. From the very beginning, Mr. Saporiti devoted himself to the growing of the association, promoting important initiatives, as for instance a subscription to purchase a mammography apparatus for to the Hospital of Menaggio. His complete devotion to the association brought people to identify him with the association itself by giving him the nickname of "Tony Aido". Mr. Antonio Saporiti has always been the president of the A.I.D.O. section of Griante, helped in his work by the precious contribution of the members of the administrative board, who are elected by the associated every three years.
